Colin L. Gray
President, CEO and Treasurer
Colin Gray co-founded Gray Wolf Group in 1999 after fifteen years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance field. As President, CEO and Treasurer Mr. Gray oversees all of Gray Wolf's operations. Before starting Gray Wolf Mr. Gray held numerous officer positions in the Crum and Forster and subsequent Talegen organization most recently with Resolution Reinsurance Services Corporation and International Insurance Company. Mr. Gray started his insurance career with L W Biegler and International Surplus Lines Insurance Company in Chicago. Prior to his insurance career Mr. Gray was a regulatory accountant at Conti Commodities Inc. in Chicago and also a staff accountant with Deloitte Haskins and Sells in Chicago and Dublin, Ireland.
Mr. Gray's experience covers all aspects of insurance and reinsurance recoveries from initial identification through billing and collection. He is especially fond of complex claims involving contract interpretation, retentions and allocation. Mr. Gray provides strategic advice and counsel to cedants as well as insureds seeking to maximize the recovery asset, and also advises cedants involved in disputes including arbitration and commutation support.
A native of Dublin, Ireland Mr. Gray graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a BS in Business and a Masters in Arts. He is a CPA and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and holds the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance and Associate in Reinsurance designations. Mr. Gray is also an ARIAS certified arbitrator.
